Visual Arts Student Scholarship Information
Ptarmigan Arts, established in 1984, is a long-standing artist cooperative gallery of local Alaskan art, located in the heart of downtown Homer, Alaska. The gallery offers Alaskan artists, especially those living in Homer, a venue for exhibition and year-round display of their artwork, while providing them with the freedom to expand their individual creativity as artists and to strive for economic prosperity. As “gallery hosts”, each artist contributes time to the daily management of the gallery, as well as providing their individual artist expertise on Alaskan art in assisting customer purchases. We also offer an exhibition space for monthly solo and collaborative shows in our Back Room Gallery and participate in monthly town-wide “First Friday” art openings and artist receptions.

There are currently 35 Alaskan artists actively involved in the gallery. The range of media comprise watercolor and acrylic paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, fiber/wearable arts, stained and fused glass, hand-crafted wood items, Alaskan fine art prints and cards.

Ptarmigan Arts is located in scenic and charming downtown Homer at 471 Pioneer Avenue near City Hall and a short walk from a myriad of other shops, restaurants and other attractions. We are open year round daily from 10 to 6 pm. (except on major holidays).
We accept all major credit cards. Shipping is available and we offer free gift-wrapping for purchases in the gallery.
