"Distillation"
"Driving Turnagain Arm in
strong winds, I photographed
at 55 mph, moving the camera
vertically as the car moved
forward. The resultant image
takes the scene of bending
trees, high waves, and grass
flattened by the wind, into a
rich distillation of color,
form and texture."
"Water Play"
"A
brownish-grey photograph of
silty glacial water pouring
over brown stones is changed by
the addition of color into an
abstract that bears little
resemblance to its simple
beginning."

Bleeding Heart Gown
Cast off white satin fabric
and abandoned red
curtains, "Bleeding Heart" is
borne out of the angst from the
demise of my marriage. Using
this very dark time in my
life, I was able to use my art
as a way of creatively
processing my emotions and move
toward healing in order to make
something beautiful during this
painful and confusing
time.
Lined with a boned ivory
corset, the short, white
undergown is princess seamed
with an asymmetrical hem.
Tossed aside tulle has been
carefully hand-dyed wine red
and is exposed from under the
hem. Chains bind the corset in
the back and are secured with a
lock and key; this represent
years of emotional abuse and
control. The bodice, composed
in red and tied at the waist,
floods down into a long,
bleeding, two piece
train.
