Ptarmigan Arts is a long-standing artist cooperative gallery established in October 1984, which offers Alaskan artists a venue for exhibition and year-round sales of their artwork. We support and encourage local artists to display and market their own art in a sharing and trusting environment.  We also offer an exhibition space for monthly solo and invitational shows in our Back Room Gallery and participate in First Friday receptions. Each artist provides the daily workforce for the management of the gallery, as well as providing their individual artistic expertise in assisting customer purchases.  

There are currently 35 Alaskan artists actively involved in the gallery.  The range of mediums comprise watercolor and acrylic paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, fiber/wearable arts, fused glass, hand-crafted wood items, fine art prints and cards.

 Each month at our co-op meetings we invite new prospective artists to jury into the gallery.  If you are interested in joining the gallery, please contact us for an artist application, price list and jury procedures.  We are also accepting proposals for future solo shows in our Back Room Gallery.  If you are interested, please contact us for a show proposal.

The gallery is located in scenic downtown Homer on Pioneer Avenue near City Hall, a short walk from a myriad of other shops, restaurants and other attractions.  We are open year round daily from 10-6 p.m. (except on major holidays) with extended hours in the summer. 

We accept all major credit cards.  Shipping is available and we offer free gift-wrapping.
