No Pattern at All
By Angela Doroff
I do not mean for this to read as a confession, but it truly has been 10 years since my last solo exhibit and also since I have shared my artwork publicly. During this hiatus, I have done a great deal of growing and incubating with a lot of materials around me.
I have composed these works of mixed media using recycled natural materials, repurposed relief and intaglio prints, shells, and endless small supplies that gather in corners.
My career as a wildlife biologist has informed this body of work. And, equally importantly, this work helps me think about the natural world from a different perspective and I hope more holistically.
The pieces in this show are not behind glass. They are meant to be part of the strength of everyday life and the web of relationships among the internal and external environment.
