Exploring the Palette Knife
By Tracy Hansen
The Back Room Gallery is happy to announce that Tracy Hansen will be having a show when the gallery reopens on November 27th for five days—November 27 through December 1. We are grateful that Tracy will open her lovely show to the public for a short run. (The gallery is temporarily closed.)
Tracy Hansen is an artist here in Homer. She moved from Idaho 10 years ago with her family and now calls Homer her home. After the move, she started making furniture and signs out of reclaimed wood. In the last few years, she has changed to painting pictures and now enjoys painting even more.
Tracy has been an artist now for over 15 years. She thinks that art helps to express herself and it is a way to show others artistically how she sees and feels about the world.
Acrylic paint has always been her favorite medium because it allows her to paint quickly during this busy time in her life. The palette knife has become her favorite tool in this new adventure. The palette knife allows her to be free with her motions and it provides surprises even for her. Tracy says that “with each layer I am more excited about what the painting will become.”
The gallery will be open daily from 11 am – 6 pm from November 27 through the end of the year (if all goes as planned).
We hope our customers and fans will catch this beautiful show and see the magic that Tracy has created this year with her palette knife! Greetings to all and we look forward to seeing you over the holidays. Welcome back!
