WILDLIFE DRAWINGS

By Jay Wright

Jay Wright is our Back Room Gallery artist for the month of April.  His exhibit will showcase his drawings in several mediums including pencil, ink and acrylics.

Jay was attracted to the outdoors even as a child.  He was especially interested in the abundant wildlife.  He grew up in Miami, Florida learning about the local animals, birds and ocean creatures.

Then Jay came to realize that he had a knack for drawing.  He continued to grow up with the utmost appreciation for his outdoor surroundings and learned to visualize that appreciation through pad and pencil.

On his life’s journey Jay has experienced different locations around the world.  When he landed in Alaska, he decided that Alaska is where his heart lies.  Alaska’s grand natural beauty, ruggedness and stunning wildlife made it just the place for him to call home.  Jay now lives in Anchor Point.

After all of his life’s adventures and experiences, he still likes to see as a child.  He then captures what his eye sees through his drawings–the beauty and simplicity of nature.

All are invited to our First Friday opening reception on April 6 from 5-7 pm.  Refreshments will be served.

Jay’s artwork will be on display during April for the enjoyment of all who join him in his wondrous world of wildlife drawings.
