Sense of Place
By Marali Sargeant Smith
The Ptarmigan Arts Back Room Gallery (BRG) proudly presents artist Marali Sargeant Smith and her landscape paintings for our July show entitled Sense of Place.
Marali is a lifelong Alaskan artist who grew up along the shores of Bristol Bay. She says Alaska is “a truly great land filled with beautiful sights, amazingly gorgeous vistas, scenes filled with drama, joy, surprise and/or quiet contemplation.”
Marali works in many art mediums including clay, stone, stained glass, acrylic, oils and watercolor. Her artwork enhances many collections and she has won numerous awards for her stained glass and paintings. Marali also teaches a variety of art disciplines and she works with individuals as well as groups.
In Marali’s BRG show, she presents a series of representational landscape paintings for her new exhibit Sense of Place. These paintings reflect her love for her surroundings.
Please join us for First Friday on July 5th, 5-7 pm. All are welcome to enjoy Marali’s beautiful paintings especially for those who love nature and Alaskan vistas.
