The Back Room Gallery (BRG) is proud to host one of our own artists, M’fanwy Dean. M’fanwy is an up-and-coming artist and graphic designer. Her BRG show will be on display for the month of June.
M’fanwy combines her love of storytelling, illustration and woodcarving by hand carving intricate details into painted wood panels to create fantastical and illustrative images. With these images, she also creates beautiful cards, magnets, necklaces, small framed pictures and prints. Her artwork has also been on display at galleries and gift shops across the State plus her artwork has been published in a number of juried international publications.
M’Fanwy resides at the Dean Family Farm and Art Studios in Homer. Needless to say, M’fanwy comes from a family of outstanding artists and artisans. She lives in a small cabin with more than half of the cabin taken up by studio space that includes a clear view of the mountains and Kachemak Bay.
Visitors to her show (and fans) can stay updated on her process and new works by visiting her website at www.mfanwydean.com or by following her on Instagram at www.instagram.com/mfanwy.
You will not want to miss M’fanwy’s opening reception on First Friday, June 1st, from 5-7 p.m. (refreshments will be served). However, you have the entire month of June to enjoy M’fanwy’s artwork. See you there!
