Welcome New Artists Marianne Elson and Tracy Hansen
Ptarmigan Arts Gallery is delighted to welcome two new artists, Marianne Elson and Tracy Hansen.
Marianne Elson is an Alaskan artist who lives in Anchorage. She admires our gallery and is happy to be one of our newest members. The slide show below will provide samples of her artwork. Marianne paints in oils, acrylics and watercolors. In her new display, she will have original artwork. She also will offer prints, cards, stickers and a coloring book.
The second artist is Tracy Hansen. She has been an artist here in Homer for the past 13 years including a show in our Back Room Gallery in 2020. Shortly after this show, she opened her own store called 59 North Creations, which supports local artists. Now she would like to get back into a gallery especially because our gallery is a co-op.
Tracy feels that art is an essential part of her life. Color and texture are an important part of her art. Texture brings movement to her paintings while rich colors give the eye more to look at. Using acrylics with a pallet knife has helped her achieve her signature look, which gives her more freedom in her creativity. Her display will offer original artwork, prints, cards and a calendar.
Come on by and see these two unique artists’ displays for a better appreciation of their artwork. Welcome Marianne and Tracy!
