Ted Heuer for May First Friday/Saturday

Ted Heuer presents A Different Perspective: Camera Trap Bird Photography show for May’s First Friday and Saturday (May 6 – 7).

Ted’s interest in photography goes back to his grade school days.  He also loves wildlife and wild places.  Ted had a 30-year career working for the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Wildlife Refuge System, spending his final 16 years as the manager of the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge based out of Fairbanks.  Before he and his wife Beth moved to Alaska in 1982, they lived on refuges in Mississippi and Louisiana.

When Ted retired in 2007, they moved to Homer and had their home built on 3.5 acres on the Homer Bluff.  They are fortunate to have a lot of wildlife visitors on their property especially sandhill cranes.

Ted’s show features the results of his experimentation with a camera trap to take close-up photos of birds.  Information about his specialized equipment and techniques can be found on his website at https://tedswoodshop.com/camera-trap-photography

Incorporating his customary work as a woodturner, Ted turned a small collection of wooden shorebirds.  These shorebirds will be available for sale along with photo cards, small matted prints, and metal prints on First Friday, May 6, from 10 am until 7 pm and Saturday, May 7, from 10 am until 6 pm.

See you there for this exciting show about camera trap photography and enjoy Ted’s wooden shorebirds and photo cards, matted prints and metal prints.
