By Abbey Ulen
Ptarmigan Arts Back Room Gallery (BRG) is excited to welcome Abbey Ulen and her new show for June in the Back Room Gallery entitled Life by the Water. Abbey is a lifelong Alaskan and she has her studio in Soldotna.
Abbey has combed the beaches of Alaska since childhood inspecting the smallest of worlds and the many usual and unusual creatures. Her new show features those many layers that make up a bigger picture of our world. And she has always been amazed by nature.
Abbey is inspired by the texture of life. She uses a variety of media such as acrylic, ink, and paper to interpret Alaska’s natural world. By using multiple layers of mediums, she hopes to encourage the viewers to look a little closer at the minor things that might go unseen.
All are invited to our First Friday on June 7th. Refreshments will be served from 5-7 pm. You will want to stop by especially on First Friday to view Abbey’s stunning artwork and meet the artist. Life by the Water is sure to delight and also remind us how fortunate we are to live in Homer. This exhibit will run through July 2nd.
