“Wings Over Homer” Show Opening May 1

Ptarmigan Arts Gallery invites you to our May 1 First Friday celebration and the opening of our month-long show “Wings Over Homer.”

As the sun brings longer days to Homer, it brings back of many of our feathered friends. Welcome home to the Sandhill Cranes, the American Golden Plovers, Sandpipers, Swallows, Swans and so many more! As we celebrate these yearly visitors, let us not forget to show appreciation for the steady locals … the Eagles, Ravens, Gulls, and the list goes on.

Whether you are a local, a snowbird, a fan of the Shorebird Festival, or a first-time visitor to our shores, come enjoy the art at Ptarmigan Arts Gallery. For the month of May we are honoring all of Homer’s birds with captivating art. “Wings Over Homer” features the collective works of our gallery artists. You can expect to see unique paintings, beautiful photography, quilts and textiles, glass work, woodcraft and turnings, fine art prints and cards, and a few surprises. All items are available for purchase. 

“Wings Over Homer” opens on May 1 for First Friday and runs through Thursday, May 28. The gallery will be open 10 to 7 for First Friday, with regular summer hours of 10 to 6 daily through the end of September.
